Flight to Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Istanbul
Topkapi palace & the blue mosque
Your first visit will be to the palace of the Ottoman's, that was built in the 15th century. The treasury and holy relics of Islam and divine religions are exhibited. Such as The beard oh Prophet Muhammet, his foot print and the swords of the followers (halife) of the prophet. The next visit is to the 'Blue Mosque',built in the 16th century and has been the biggest mosque in the world for centuries. The Blue Mosque is famous for its thousands of blue tiles and six minarets. The Chora Museum, which has been used as church as well as mosque, with its unbelievable frescos, proves that Turkey a multi cultural country in peace.
Day 3: Konya
After breakfast we will drive to Konya. We will enjoy some free time here and have dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Konya.
Day 4: Konya & Sultanhani:
In the 12th and 13th century, Konya was the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire. We still see a lot of monuments from that period. It is proved that the history goes back to 4000 B.C. We will visit the Mevlana Monastery. The philosophy of Mevlana is important for the Islam. The Islam museum, has a fabulous collection and is located in the monastery. Afterwards we will drive to the caravanserai Sultanhani, which is one of the best preserved caravanserais. After visiting the remains of an underground city we will end the day in the region Cappadocia.
Day 5: Cappadocia
After breakfast, we are going to visit a carpet handicraft center, supported by the government in order to keep the carpet manifacturing tradition alive in the Cappadocian region. The Göreme open air museum as well as the citadel of Uchisar. Many other photo stops at magnificient valley views are our program today. Afterwards we will visit Avanos, the pottery town. Here we will have the possibility to watch a demonstration at a workshop. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 6: Ankara
After breakfast we will leave Cappadocia and drive to the capital of Turkey Ankara. Ankara is a modern city with plenty governmental buildings, parks and boulevards. In the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, which is the most important museum of Turkey, we will admire ancient treasures of fascinating civilizations. Our next stop is the Mausoleum of Atatürk, who is the founder of the Turkish Republic and mentioned as the father of the Turks. Dinner and overnight in Ankara.
Day 7: Istanbul
After breakfast we will drive back to Istanbul. Dinner and overnight in the hotel in Istanbul.
Day 8: Istanbul / Departue
Breakfast at the hotel in Istanbul. Free time. Transfer to the airport.
